I love working with brides to create jewelry for their wedding day. This summer, I had the pleasure of working with Lizzie and her mom, Karen, to create this rose gold-filled pearl wedding jewelry set.
Lizzie chose a delicate back drop pearl necklace in rose gold-filled paired with freshwater pearl cluster earrings. Both of these pieces are simple, elegant, and compliment each other perfectly. This set looks great when paired with a low back wedding dress, like Lizzie’s Made With Love “Georgie” dress that she found at Burlington’s Everthine Bridal.
On a sunny June day, Lizzie and her beau, Jason, tied the knot while overlooking Vermont’s Adirondack Mountains. I was so happy to be a part of this bride’s big day! Congratulations, Lizzie and Jason!
Working with and creating jewelry for brides is extra special to me. The pieces will be remembered forever and it’s important to enhance, not overpower, the beauty of the bride and her gown. I believe accessories and jewelry should be simple and timeless.
Lizzie’s Made With Love gown is a minimalist’s dream, with classic lines and a deep plunging back. Our goal was to create something that would accentuate the dress and would also go well with the special hairpiece that she already had. The jeweled hair clip was rose gone-told, so we used rose gold-filled in our jewelry design to compliment it.
For Lizzie’s back drop necklace, I used dainty but strong sparkly cable chain adorned with freshwater pearls. These pearls are full of luster and are a milky white hue that goes well with any shade of wedding dress!
When designing this necklace, I put one round pearl in the front of the chain so it sits right in between the bride’s collarbone when the necklace hangs all the way down in the back. What is really fun about this particular design is that you can move it up and down, creating different looks. For most of the day, Lizzy wore hers a little longer in the front, creating a pearl pendant look.
The versatility of the necklace is great for taking wedding photos because you can play around with different looks!
Balance is key: wearing multiple bold pieces at once can make the look too heavy! I love mixing and matching pieces so that one makes a vivid statement and the other plays an accenting role. Here, the earrings are acting as the statement piece and the necklace is a lovely addition. They share the same rose gold-filled metal and beautiful natural pearls, so they go together just perfectly!
What do you think about this look? Are you getting ready for your wedding and need some bling for your gown? Do you have a friend or family member who is getting married? Let me know in the comments below! I would love to hear from you!
